UniWeb Self Setup Guide

Welcome to Uniper! We’re so glad to have you. Your new UniWeb account will let you do everything from taking live classes to keeping in touch with your family to much, much more, all from the comfort of a web browser. But before you can enjoy all of our wonderful services, we’ll need to get you logged in to your account.

Setting Up Your Computer

Before we log in, let’s make sure you have what you need to get started. Make sure your laptop or computer is in a comfortable place and plugged in. Next, you may need to install Google Chrome. To find out if you have Google Chrome, take a look at your desktop. If you have Google Chrome, an icon like the one shown below should appear on your desktop.

If you have this icon, you have Google Chrome! Go ahead to the next section to learn how to log on to your UniWeb account!

If you are on a PC, you can also check if you have Google Chrome by clicking the Windows symbol in the bottom left corner of your screen to open your start menu. Once the start menu is open, scroll down to the letter G. If you have Google Chrome, it will be listed here, as shown above.

If you are on an Apple, you can also check if you have Google Chrome by moving your mouse to the bottom of the screen. This will make your task bar appear. If you have Google Chrome, it will be shown somewhere on this bar, as shown above.

If you don’t have Google Chrome, that’s okay! It’s very easy to install. Start by opening whatever browser you currently have on your computer: if you have a PC, this is probably Microsoft Edge (shown below on the left), and if you have an Apple, it is most likely Safari (shown below on the right).

Double click the browser icon to open a window, then follow this link to go to Google Chrome’s install page.

On the Chrome Install page, click either of the download buttons shown above.

This pop-up will appear on screen. Click the ‘Accept and Install’ button to begin downloading Google Chrome.

When the file has finished downloading, it should show up at the bottom of your screen (as shown above). If it doesn’t show up there, check the downloads file on your computer. Double click the file to start your installation.

Your computer will process through a couple of screens, then end on the pop-up above. Click close to exit the installer.

Congratulations! You have now installed Google Chrome. It should appear on your desktop, in your start menu if you have a PC, or in your task bar if you have an Apple.

Logging In

Now that you have Google Chrome, open a new window by double clicking the Google Chrome icon on your desktop, in your start menu (if you have a PC), or in your task bar (if you have an Apple).

When the window opens, click into the URL bar (that’s the bar at the top of the window), and type in the web address for your email, as shown above. Once you have typed it in, press the enter or return key on your keyboard.

Inside your email, you should have received an email from Uniper with your login information. If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder, or contact support at 1-888-471-7623 to have the welcome email sent to you again. Once you have located the email, click it to open it.

This email contains your username and password! Your username is your email address and your password is your phone number. Click the green button to proceed to the UniWeb login screen!

From the login screen shown above, click the ‘Click here to login’ button. This will automatically sign you in!

If the button does not redirect you to UniWeb, you can also log in here by typing in your username, which is your email, and password, which is your phone number, then clicking the ‘Login’ button.

The first time you log into your UniWeb account, you will have to go through a few quick pop-ups. These are our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy, which allow us to help give you best experience possible. Once you have clicked the 'Accept' button on all three screens, you will be taken to your UniWeb home page!

This is your UniWeb home! You are now ready to enjoy and explore your account!

Bookmarking Uniper

We recommend bookmarking your UniWeb homepage to make it easy to return to at any point in the future. There are a couple of ways you can do this:

An easy way to create a bookmark in Google Chrome is to click the star in your URL bar, as shown above.

Clicking the star will open a drop down. Inside the drop down, click ‘Add bookmark’ to add a bookmark.

This pop-up will appear. You can click the ‘Done’ button or press the return/enter key on your keyboard to confirm your bookmark.

The other way to add a bookmark is to click the three dots in the top right corner of your window, then click the bookmarks section, then click 'Bookmark this tab'.

This will make the bookmark confirmation pop-up appear. Click done or press the return/enter key on your keyboard to confirm the bookmark.

Once you have created your bookmark, you can find it in 2 places: On your bookmark bar, or by clicking the three three dots in the top right corner of your window, then clicking the bookmarks section, as shown above.

Live Activities

UniWeb has a variety of live activities available for you to participate in, including trivia, yoga, peer groups and much more!

Click the Live Activities box to open up your live activities screen.

The live activities screen displays both open and future events. You can browse future and current live activities by scrolling with your mouse, and return to your home screen at any time by clicking the ‘Home’ button. Activities that are live have a green join button next to them. You can join any live activity by clicking the Join button!

Inside live activities, you can mute or unmute your microphone, start or stop your video, and switch between speaker and gallery view. You can also leave an activity at any time by clicking the ‘Leave' button or the 'Home’ Button.

 

You can also join live activities and view upcoming activities at the bottom of your home screen! To join a open live activity from your home screen, click the green ‘Join’ button.

Video Library

Next, lets look at your video library, which you can access by clicking the Video Library button on your home page.

You can also use your video library at any time of the day! Videos range from exercises like Zumba and yoga, to concerts and music, to documentaries. You can explore your video library by scrolling up or down with your mouse, and access any video you see by simply clicking on it! You can also return to your home screen at any time by clicking the ‘Home’ button.

When you click a video, it will expand to be more visible! To start the video, click the play button in the middle of the video.

Once the video has started, you can pause the video by clicking the pause button, mute the video by clicking the speaker button, or expand the video into full screen mode by clicking the expand button on the bottom left of the video. To exit full screen mode, press the escape key on your keyboard or click the expand button again.

Community News / Announcements

On your home screen you may notice a greyed out button marked ‘Community News’. This will soon be available and will let your care partner keep you up to date on their latest news and announcements!

Troubleshooting

 

My live activity has no sound.

First double check that your computer audio is not muted or off by pressing the volume up or down keys on your keyboard. If this does not correct the issue, try exiting and reentering the activity by clicking the ‘Leave’ button to return to the live activities screen, then clicking the ‘Join’ button next to the activity to rejoin.

My video library video has no sound.

First double check that your computer audio is not muted or off by pressing the volume up or down keys on your keyboard. If this does not correct the issue, check that the speaker button in the video isn’t set to mute.

I can’t log in to my UniWeb account.

If you are using the button in your welcome email to log in, try closing your browser window and trying again in a new window. If that doesn’t work, try using login page to log in. Remember that your username is your email address and your password is your phone number. Be sure to type in your username and password carefully to avoid any errors.
