Member-Driven Live Activity Reminders

Members can now opt to get notifications for specific live activities! Your UniManage Admins can set up, modify, or remove these reminders for members at both the category and the activity level. If you want to see how setting up live activity reminders looks for members, you can read the Live Activity Reminders for UniTV.

Setting Up Activity Reminders

Before you can control a member’s reminders, you need to make sure reminders are turned on for your account. To see if reminders are turned on, log in to UniManage, open the Setup dropdown, and click ‘Settings’.

NOTE: To turn on reminders for your account, you will need super admin or regional admin access. If you do not see the Setup dropdown or the Settings option in the Setup dropdown, contact Uniper Support to turn your reminders on for you.

At the top of your Settings screen, click the ‘Reminders’ tab to open your reminders settings.

If the toggle buttons next to next to ‘Group meeting reminders’ and ‘Telecare & personal meeting reminders’ are green, then your reminders are turned on for your account! You can proceed to the next section, Setting Up Reminders for Your Activity.

If the toggle buttons next to next to ‘Group meeting reminders’ and ‘Telecare & personal meeting reminders’ are grey, click them to turn them on. Next, click the ‘Schedule reminders’ drop down and select how far before your events you would like your members to receive a reminder, then click ‘Save’ to preserve these settings.

From here, you can set up a general phone reminder using the instructions here, or continue with this article to setting up reminders in your activity.

Setting Up a Member's Reminders

Accessing A Member’s Reminders

Members are now able to turn reminders on and off from their UniTV device, but admins can access and adjust both which notifications a member receives and they way they receive them. To access a member’s reminders, log in to UniManage, open the Subscribers dropdown, and click ‘Manage Subscribers’.

Inside the Manage Subscribers screen, use the search bar to find the member whose notifications you would like to change, and then click the pencil icon to edit their settings.

Inside the member’s settings, click the Reminders tab at the top of the screen. Here you can choose if the member receives notifications for all activities or just for calls, add and select phone numbers for calls and SMS messages, toggle daily reminders on and off, and change the types of notifications received by members at both the activity and activity type level.

If the member wants to receive notifications for both activities and calls, select the “All Pop-up Types” option in the “Allow Pop-ups While Watching TV” section.

If the member wants to receive notifications for only calls, select the “Calls Only” option in the “Allow Pop-ups While Watching TV” section.

NOTE: You can also toggle off all class reminders using the “Class Reminders” toggle above the activity specific notifications settings.

Adding Phone Numbers for Reminders

You can add a phone number for calls and SMS messages by clicking the “Add Phone Number” button in the “Send Reminders to Subscriber's” section.

A pop-up will appear; enter a name for the phone number you are adding in the Name box, then add the member’s phone number (including country code) in the Number box. When you are done, click the “Add Number” button to put the number in the member’s reminders tab.

To choose which number a member receives SMS message or phone call reminders, click the circle next to the number the member would like to use.

Daily Reminders

Members can receive a daily schedule of activities available to them via email or SMS message. To turn on daily email reminders, toggle the button next to the Email section to the on (green) position, then set the time they will receive the notification in their local time.

To turn on daily SMS reminders, toggle the button next to the SMS section to the on (green) position, then set the time they will receive the notification in their local time.

NOTE: Members must have an email or mobile number associated with their Uniper account to receive daily emails or SMS messages, respectively.

Turning Member-Driven Notifications On and Off

When a member opts into receiving reminders for a live activity on their UniTV device, the activity will appear under its activity type in their reminders tab. If notifications are turned on, UniTV members will receive notifications on their TV, their email (if they have an email associated with their Uniper account), and via phone call by default when they turn on reminders for an event. You can turn any of the reminders for a live activity on or off by checking or unchecking the box under the reminder type next to the activity.

NOTE: Members must have an email or mobile number associated with their Uniper account to receive daily emails or SMS messages, respectively.

If a member wants to turn off all notifications for a specific type of activity, you can click the toggle button under that activity type to move it to the off (grey) position. If a member would like to turn those notifications back on, you can click the toggle to move it to the on (green) position.

Reminders for an Activity

Setting Up Reminders for Activities

When setting up a live activity, you will have 4 activity types to choose from: Education, Body, Mind, and Community. Because reminders can be turned on and off at the activity type level, it is important to select the correct activity type to make sure the correct members receive the correct reminders.

NOTE: If a member wants to opt out of an activity type, contact our Uniper Support team at 1-888-471-7623 or support@unipercare.com.

After selecting your activity type, set your activity view (either speaker view or gallery view) and choose whether or not you want your members to be able to toggle between speaker and gallery view.

Once you have selected your view preferences, you will find the additional reminder settings. You can check the ‘Enable default reminders’ to send the reminder types that have been enabled for the members in your account (TV pop-ups, SMS messages, phone calls, or emails).

Now that you’ve set your reminders up, you can finish setting up your activity as usual. If you want to learn more about setting up live activities, you can read more here.

NOTE: If you are looking for the “Enable Phone Reminders” option, it has been replaced with the “Enable Default Reminders” option; phone reminders fall under this category, so turning on default reminders will turn on phone reminders.

Extant Recurring Activities

If you had a recurring meeting that was created before August 2022, you may notice that its activity type has changed. To simplify live activities for members and to make live activity creation more straightforward, we have merged several former activity types, as shown below.

Troubleshooting

My member says they are not getting any notifications.

If your member is not getting the reminders they have selected, check to make sure your reminders are turned on at the account level using the steps in the Setting Up Activity Reminders section of this article. If your account level reminders are turned off, turn them on.

If the issue persists, check the member’s individual reminders settings using the steps in the Turning Member-Driven Notifications On and Off section of this article. If their notifications are turned on correctly for the activity they want to receive reminders for, check to make sure their phone and email addresses are correct.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact our customer support team at 1-888-471-7623 or support@unipercare.com, or reach out to your CPSM for assistance.

My member is getting too many reminders.

If your member is getting too many reminders for an activity or activity type, you can adjust their reminder settings using the steps in the Turning Member-Driven Notifications On and Off section of this article. You can turn off specific reminder types (TV, SMS, email, or phone call) on an activity level basis, or you can turn off notifications for the whole activity type. You can also turn off all live activity notifications for a member by clicking the class reminders toggle above the activity-specific reminders to move it into the off (grey) position.

NOTE: Members will always receive reminders for direct calls made by their loved ones through the Uniper App and for personal (one-on-one) meetings.
