Starting the Uniper Experience:

Now that you have completed the setup wizard, you can go directly access live activities, VOD content, or the home screen.

Home Screen

The home screen on this device may feel a bit different. Don't worry! We just made a few aesthetic changes, like:

  • A new background color.

  • A thicker, bolder line around items you are focusing on.

  • Items you aren’t focusing on appear in grayscale.

We will work to make the UniTV and UniPass user displays as close as possible in future releases.

Live Activities

The Live Activities page (available from your home screen) has a few new updates too!

Navigation Changes

We have streamlined navigating through live activities, making it easier than ever to find and participate. From the Live Activities Screen, you can:

  • Navigate left or right for activities that are currently live.

  • Navigate up or down to view upcoming activities (these are scheduled activities that can’t be joined yet).

    • Activities that are not live at the moment are displayed below the ones that are live under the header Upcoming Events.

Remember, you the item that is larger, centered in the middle of your screen, and that has the thicker green boarder is the item you currently have selected.

Live Indication

How do you know which activities are live right now? There are a couple ways to tell— live activities:

  • Have a red ‘LIVE’ indicator in the top right corner of the activity.

  • Are located at the top of the screen, above the ‘Upcoming Events’ section.

  • Have a green ‘Join’ button that indicates you can join the activity.

Note: If there are no available live activities, the Upcoming Events list will appear at the top of the Live Activities page.

Upcoming Events List

Under your live activities is the list of Upcoming Events; these are future live events that are not active yet. Upcoming events differ from live activities in the following ways:

  • Their activity date and time is displayed next to their title.

  • They do not have a ‘LIVE’ indicator.

  • Their ‘Join’ button is colored grey (disabled).

  • Trying to click OK to join an activity that is not live will prompt a pop-up explaining that the activity will start later.

Video Meeting Screen

You can access a number of features once you have entered an activity, including:

  • Using the left and right remote keys to:

    • Change the camera state (on or off)

  • Change the mic state (muted or unmuted)

  • Toggle speaker and gallery view

  • Leave the call

    • You can also leave an activity at any time by clicking on the back button, the home button, or the TV button.

You can also can use the up and down remote keys to scroll through the gallery view when it is active.

Video-On-Demand (VOD) Library

You can access videos on demand through the Video Library page on your screen!

Layout Changes

Two major changes have been made to the video library:

  • We have added a clear visual distinction to differentiate between videos, categories, and sub-categories.

  • All of the directional buttons— up, down, left, and right— are now used to navigate between the different elements.

Main Video Selection Screen

When they enter the video library, the first thing the member will see is the Videos for You category. This is a list of all videos currently featured on your page by your provider. You can navigate between these videos using the left and right buttons in a carousel pattern.

Below the Videos for you section is a horizontal list of Categories from your care provider.

Video Player

When you select a video, the video play will open. In the video player, you can pause, play, fast-forward, and rewind videos using the left, right, and OK buttons on your remote control, or you can exit the video at any time using the back button.

Questionnaires

Questionnaires from your provider are available through the home screen. You can navigate between them with the up and down buttons, go back a question using the back button, and select answers with the OK button.

Settings Page

You can adjust your settings in the settings page, which is available from your home screen!

Settings you can change include your language, your camera, and your network. Please note that changing the language in settings will change your display language on all your connected Uniper platforms.

Bottom Navigation Bar

The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen will always include all relevant navigational options for the screen you are using.

Page Header

Located at the top of the screen, the page header includes:

  • The support phone number (provided from the care provider)

  • The day of the week

  • The current time

Self Setup Wizard

Let’s go through the setup wizard and home screens to see what’s changed with the new UniPass unit.

Language and Network:

  • The selected language will only affect the setup wizard’s display, not the member’s system display language.

  • After setting up the language, the member will be asked to set up the internet connection.

Pairing:

The account will be paired to the UniTV box using the member’s birth year and primary phone number.

Screen Configuration:

The member will be asked to use the remote in order to set the right screen size for their TV.

Camera Setup:

The member will be asked to adjust their camera.

Terms and Conditions:

The Terms and Conditions will be displayed to the member for their review and approval.

Starting the Uniper Experience:

The completion screen of the Setup Wizard allows members to directly access live activities, VOD content, or the home screen.

Home Screen

The general 'look and feel' of the new platform is different than the current implementation. Notable differences include:

  • The background color is different.

  • The home page focus line (the border around the component) is thicker and more noticeable.

  • Elements that are selected are colored while those that are not selected appear in grayscale.

Live Activities

Navigation Changes

Navigation options have been streamlined to the following:

  • Members will navigate left or right for activities that are currently live.

  • Members will navigate up or down for upcoming activities (scheduled activities that cannot be joined yet).

    • Activities that are not live at the moment are displayed below the ones that are live under the header Upcoming Events.

  • How does the member know what element they are currently focusing on?

    • The activity the member is focusing on is displayed as a larger component than the other activities on screen, making it appear as if the activity is 'popping out' of the screen.

    • The activity the member is focusing on is displayed with a bold, colored border line.

    • The activity the member is focusing on is displayed in the center of the screen.

Live Indication

Live indications make it easy to find and join live activities.

  • Members will see a clear ‘LIVE’ indication on the component itself, similar to regular TV programming.

  • Activities that members can join are located at the top of the screen, at a different, more noticeable location than activities that are not currently live.

  • The ‘Join’ button for live activities is colored green, and has a clear indication for the remote button that needs to be pressed in order to join (the OK button).

Upcoming Events List

The Upcoming Events list displays future live activities; when there are no live activities active, this list will display at the top of the Live Activities screen. Upcoming events differ from live activities in the following ways:

  • The activity date and time is displayed next to the activity title.

  • There is no ‘LIVE’ indicator.

  • The ‘Join’ button is colored grey (disabled).

  • Trying to click OK to join an activity that is not live will prompt a pop-up explaining that the activity will start later.

  • Using the left and right remote keys to:

    • Change the camera state (on or off)

  • Change the mic state (muted or unmuted)

Video Player
